Bunga Raya

Named after the national flower of Malaysia (The Hibiscus), the Bunga Raya Restaurant is the oldest and longest surviving Malaysian restaurant south of the river Thames in London. Since it's inception it has always been a lively venue to dine, drink and party in Thornton Heath. While the Bunga Raya Restaurant has undergone various changes and been reborn over the years, and the look may have changed dramatically over the more recent years, the ethos behind the original Bunga Raya has not, which is to provide good food at value for money prices in a warm, friendly and fun atmosphere. Our large, and hugely popular restaurant is now an ideal venue for parties of all sizes. With the added fun of karaoke, for all our vociferous patrons, it's an even greater place to party and have a good time. THE FOOD - " Our Cuisine, A Culinary Crossroad"

Food is almost a national obession in Malaysia - that reason becomes apparent the moment you begin to experience the endlessly varied culinary  delights on offer at the Bunga Raya.

Although the story of Malaysian food is a simple mixture of three main styles - Malay, Chinese, and Indian, these different people, over the past two centuries have influenced each other to varying degrees, resulting in food that is unique in flavour and style.

We in turn have spent over thirty years developing those tastes and a loyal following for Malaysian food in London, and now offer an A'la Carte menu, Buffet Menu,Takeout Service, hold Special Culinary Evenings and cater for outside events.

THE BUFFET

For a fixed price, our evening buffet (Wednesday, Thursday, please check) Friday and Saturday continues to offer a great range of different dishes with Malaysian overtones and authenticity.

While our Sunday lunch buffet focuses on the local "Hawker style" street food dishes of Malaysia such as, Curry Laksa, Satay, Nasi Lemak, Chilli Crab, Roti Canai, mouth-watering Char Kway-Teow, amongst a myriad of other offerings.
